A lo largo de este año instalará en cuatro edificios municipales nuevos proyectos basados en la tecnología fotovoltaica y termosolar para producir energía. La inversión total será de 200.000 euros y la acción se encuentra dentro del Plan Global de Ahorro Energético y de Reducción de Emisiones.

La concejala de Medio Ambiente y Movilidad del Ayuntamiento de Zaragoza y el portavoz del grupo municipal de Chunta Aragonesista han sido los encargados de presentar las cuatro instalaciones que se encuentran dentro de la estrategia para reducir emisiones 20/20.

Los paneles funcionan con tecnología fotovoltaica, y su objetivo principal es el de producir energía eléctrica. Está previsto que se instalen en el Cuartel de la Policía Local de La Paz, en el edificio de Vialidad y en el Centro Deportivo Municipal Siglo XXI.

La cuarta instalación será una placa híbrida, que funciona con tecnología fotovoltaica y termosolar, es decir, combina ambas. Esta placa tiene el objetivo principal de obtener energía limpia, y además calentar agua utilizando los rayos del sol. Su instalación se realizará en el Parque de Bomberos número uno.

Con esta iniciativa de contar con cuatro nuevas instalaciones de energía solar, se pretende reducir las emisiones de dióxido de carbono, de hecho se estima que con ellas se producirán y emitirán a la atmósfera 85 toneladas de dióxido de carbono menos al año.

Cada una de las instalaciones fotovoltaicas cuenta con 95 paneles, los cuales generarán 37.233 kWh al año. En el caso de la placa híbrida, contará con 28 módulos que producirán 9.618 kWh eléctricos y 25.449 kWh destinados a calentar Agua Caliente Sanitaria (ACS) al año. Con esta placa híbrida se podrá llegar a cubrir el 65% de la demanda de ACS mediante el uso de energía solar.

A pesar de que su inversión total inicial sea elevada, concretamente 200.000 euros, se estima que se amorticen económicamente en siete años. Las inversiones en la mejora de la eficiencia energética suelen ser costosas, pero los resultados se pueden apreciar desde su puesta en funcionamiento, así que enseguida se obtienen beneficios.

Estas acciones forman parte del Plan Global de Ahorro Energético y de Reducción de Emisiones, cuyo objetivo principal es luchar contra el cambio climático. El objetivo es reducir las emisiones en un 20% para el año 2020, además de fomentar la eficiencia energética en Zaragoza y apostar por el desarrollo sostenible.
